Directory Permission Required for DMXReady v2 Applications
Posted by DMXReady-MH on 23 November 2009 02:09 AM
When you install and use your v2 applications for the first time, you may encounter an error that is saying something like this:

Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a0046'
Permission denied
Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80004005'
Operation must use an updateable query.

This error basically says that the application does not have sufficient permission to operate in the server. To resolve this issue, please give "Read and Write" permission for the whole "/dmxreadyv2/" directory (for Everyone user group).

If you do not want to give the whole "/dmxreadyv2/", then you can give the "Read and Write" permission on the following directories:
  • /dmxreadyv2/shared_library/backup/
  • /dmxreadyv2/databases/
  • /dmxreadyv2/<app_name>/app_engine/assets/
  • /dmxreadyv2/<app_name>/app_engine/skins/
Please note that if you choose to grant "Read and Write" permission only these directories, you may find the permission error when you are doing an update that is released by DMXReady. In this case, please try to give the whole "/dmxreadyv2/" directory the "Read and Write" permission (including the child directories).
