Error: Cannot update. Database or object is read-only.

Error:

Cannot update. Database or object is read-only. Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005' [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Cannot update. Database or object is read-only.

Solution:

This error usually happens when you try to insert data into or update data in an Access database. It means that you don't have sufficient permissions to write to the database. If you are running the web server yourself , you need to setup the correct settings/permissions on the server. If you are using a web hosting service you will need to contact your provider. They may need to setup a system DSN for you or change the permissions on the directory containing the database.
