Error: Operation must use an updateable query
Posted by DMXReady Admin on 17 June 2013 04:07 PM
Error:
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005' [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Operation must use an updateable query.

OR

Changes (add/edit/delete) are not saving to the database

Solution:
This error happens when you try to add/update/delete data from your admin pages. It means that you don't have the correct folder permissions to write to the MS Access database. If you are running the web server yourself, you need to setup write/web permissions on the /databases folder on the server. If you are using a web hosting service you should be able to modify the  /databases folder permissions using your web hosting control panel. Refer to your web hosting provider for further instructions.
