Q. Can I Use CDOSYS Email Component with Registration Manager?

A. Yes, you can change from CDONTS to CDOSYS by following these steps:

  1. Open the file "applications/RegistrationManager/components/inc_cdomailer_CDOSYS.asp" and go to line 35
  2. Change the smtp server name from "mail.yoursmtpserver.com" to YOUR smtp server name (If you don't know your SMTP server name, contact your webhost:
    • Change: objCDOSYSCon.Fields("http://schemas.microsoft.com/cdo/configuration/smtpserver") = "mail.yoursmtpserver.com" to objCDOSYSCon.Fields("http://schemas.microsoft.com/cdo/configuration/smtpserver") = "YOUR smtp server name"
  3. Go to line 55 and repeat step 1 and 2.
  4. Save the file as "inc_cdomailer.asp" (This will replace/overwrite your existing "inc_cdomailer.asp" file) and upload to your web server.

Note:
If your server requires SMTP authentication, then you will need to do the following steps as well:

  1. Open "applications/RegistrationManager/components/inc_cdomailer_CDOSYS.asp" go to line 37
  2. Locate the following line:
    adminConf.Fields.Item("http://schemas.microsoft.com/cdo/configuration/smtpserverport") = 25
  3. Below that line, add the following codes:
    adminConf.Fields("http://schemas.microsoft.com/cdo/configuration/sendusername") = "myusername"
    adminConf.Fields("http://schemas.microsoft.com/cdo/configuration/sendpassword") = "mypassword"

    * myusername = email server username from your webhosting provider
    * mypassword = email server password from your webhosting provider
    * Do not erase code: adminConf.Fields.Update
  4. At the same file, go to line 57
  5. Locate the following line
    clientConf.Fields.Item("http://schemas.microsoft.com/cdo/configuration/smtpserverport") = 25
  6. Below that line, add the following codes:
    clientConf.Fields("http://schemas.microsoft.com/cdo/configuration/sendusername") = "myusername"
    clientConf.Fields("http://schemas.microsoft.com/cdo/configuration/sendpassword") = "mypassword"

    * myusername = email server username from your webhosting provider
    * mypassword = email server password from your webhosting provider
    * Do not erase code: clientConf.Fields.Update
